If it's a rumble, it could be the CV joint, the support bearing for the driveshaft or a u-joint on the driveshaft. I'm currently trying to figure out a Does your E90 have IBS? Do you need to register/code a new battery? As I explained in the video, I was 100% sure I needed to register my new battery on my BMW Symptoms: car won't start during a track event, at first I thought battery is discharged because I left the car on without the engine running, so I asked my friend to push it for me. However after I hook up my diagnostic scanner, the battery shows 12.2V with engine running, drive home for about an hour and voltage dropped to 10.8V (alternator Mar 5, 2017. #5. Hmmm, it might be that the actual starter has failed. It's not an uncommon failure on N46 engines. Thing is, the car stood for two years. Ideally, the car would need to be checked out properly as there might be a few other issues at play here as well. Check the voltage at the battery with a meter. Car off 12.5+ battery is OK. Anything less than 12V resting is a dead battery. Car running charging around 13.5 to 14.4 alternator OK. AGM can be slightly lower charge voltages. Side note, how did you get the voltage displayed in the dash? if the battery age is approaching 5 years on an AGM, replace. NOTE: All measurements should be performed with the battery charger connected to the vehicle. 1. Measure the following at connector X6035 on the electric coolant water pump: - E90 and E91 - Pin 1 (fuse F09) and Pin 4 ground (X6455) = 12 volts. CEGrPL.
